The Nuclear Threats from North Korea and Iran

Gary Samore is executive director of the Belfer Center at Harvard’s Kennedy School. Until the beginning of the year, he was President Obama’s special assistant and coordinator for arms control, terrorism, and weapons of mass destruction. Samore also worked at the National Security Council during the Clinton administration, and helped negotiate an agreement with North Korea aimed at ending that country’s nuclear weapons program. He has been vice president for studies at the Council on Foreign Relations, vice president for global security at the MacArthur Foundation, and senior fellow for nonproliferation at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. Samore has also worked at the State Department on nonproliferation issues
